It seems officers had the wrong address on the search warrant. Ruth Hunter, of the Richmond Area, says police eventually made a real arrest two doors down. “Asked me if I ever stored drugs for anybody — I said how dare you insult my integrity.” The lack of humility and respect of these “public servants” was further demonstrated when they told Ms Hunter to find someone to fix the door they broke. Needless to say, no one apologized.

Rand Paul told an audience at the University of Chicago that while he was personally opposed to abortion, he would not support an outright ban at this time. “The country is in the middle (and) we’re not changing any of the laws until the country is persuaded otherwise.” Paul’s comments will probably cost him some Tea Party support. The Senator’s father, former Congressman Ron Paul, is well known for insisting that the abortion issue is a state, not a federal matter. While he is right from a Constitutional viewpoint, it is difficult to see how abortion could ever be overturned without a federal Amendment.
It used to be innocent unless proven guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt. Now thanks to analytic software from SAS, Louisiana authorities can start intervening in the life of a pre-criminal because of a statistical anomaly. Of course statistics are sensitive to sample size, and if too few people share a certain set of characteristics, the resulting correlation is unreliable. So, who’s watching the statisticians?
The excuse for the initiative is to “protect minors.” Who can argue with that? But the Alliance Defending Freedom says, “Adoption of the Salles Report would further damage the rights of European parents in educating their children according to their own religious and philosophical convictions.” The effort has not yet reached persecution status, but appears to be a step in that direction.
Dr. Faust was a ficitional character who made a pact with the Devil for “success.” It seems Josie Cunningham is a kindred soul. The 23 year-old UK woman hopes aborting her unborn child, will get her a part on “Big Brother.” Cunningham told a newspaper, “An abortion will further my career. This time next year I won’t have a baby. Instead I’ll be famous, driving a bright pink Range Rover and buying a big house. Nothing will get in my way.”
For the last 25 years David Suchet has played detective Hercule Poirot on TV. But he’s wanted to record the Bible since he picked one up in a hotel and found new life in Christ. This is not Suchet’s first venture in Christian media. Previously he played the role of Aslan the Lion in a Focus on the Family audio recording of “The Chronicles of Narnia.”
An administrator at Central York High School in Pennsylvania told 18 year-old Patrick Farves that it would be inappropriate to ask the visiting Miss America to the prom. Ten minutes later he did, and was suspended for three days. More importantly, Miss America does not consider it inappropriate. What really was inappropriate was interfering with Farves’ freedom of speech, but I doubt we’ll see the administrator suspended for that.
