I live near Reno, Nevada. Much of what I know about international affairs, I learn from NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox News — and the Comedy Channel’s Daily Show with Jon Stewart. (But not everything.) You know, like most Americans.
So, the other day, I’m watching NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams, and the story of Israel’s counter-attack on rocket launchers in Gaza City comes up. They cut to their correspondent in Gaza City, Ayman Mohyeldin, and he launches into a diatribe that would only be considered a news report by Al Jazeera about how Israel brutally killed innocent civilians in a war zone.
In that report, he kind of forgot to mention that up to that time, Hamas had launched something like 900 rockets into Israel, some going as far as Tel Aviv from the very place where those civilians were killed.
