The squalid compound in Taos, New Mexico where authorities found 11 starving children was reportedly being used to train the boys to perpetrate school shootings.
The foster parent of one child told police the defendants “trained the child in the use of an assault rifle in preparation for future school shootings,” CNN reported.
Prosecutors said the children underwent advanced weapons training.
Authorities found a homemade shooting range, an AR-15 with 30-round magazines, four pistols, loaded magazines, and extra ammunition.
Police arrested five people at the compound for child abuse.
