David Brat had only taken in a little over $200 thousand. His opponent — Congressman Eric Cantor —had raised almost $5.5 million. But the old adage that money talks wasn’t true in Virginia’s recent Republican primary. Brat is a professor at Randolph-Macon College and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Its official name is the Asymmetric Warfare Training Center, but let’s just call it Nowheresville. It’s located on the grounds of Fort A.P. Hill, about 75 miles south of Washington, DC. The complex, including a sports stadium, bank, school and subway, cost $96 million to build over two years. Nowheresville mostly looks American with signs in English.
Can this fox be trusted to guard the hen house? Barack Obama has appointed a major Democratic supporter to look into discrimination against Tea Party-style organizations by the IRS. Barbara Kay Bosserman, a lawyer with Justice Department experience, was a major contributor to Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. Can somebody say “political payoff?”
