The effort, largely influenced by Michelle Obama, to implement strict nutritional guidelines in public schools has resulted in complaints from students, parents, and school administrators across the nation. Nevertheless, many activists believe the federal government should be responsible for determining what America’s children are permitted to eat.
That view was apparently the catalyst behind a letter one Missouri teacher sent home with a student this week. After cafeteria staff noticed the girl brought a lunch with food items they did not approve, the teacher penned the following letter for her parents.
